Minutes from January meeting
As put together by Secretary William Rawlinson.
Minutes
Pres. Foshee called meeting to order at 7:45 and gave prayer.
Mrs. McKee gave a lot of advice (subject escapes me at the moment).
New Business Opened
1: Music to be played at the Graduation is discussed. A band or an organist can play at said graduation. The Home School band has already offered to play for free. Possibility of Mark Rawlinson playing the organ is brought up. Band wins vote. Next the kind of music to be played is discussed.
2: Invitations are discussed. They can be either uniform or individual. Uniform is less expensive because the price of an invitation goes down as the quantity ordered is increased. Related statistics are given.
30 invitations cost $16.20 (or $11.30 if they are in black-and-white)
50 will cost $27
75 will cost $40 or $50
The question of whether to put a class scripture on the invitations is brought up.
Uniform invitations agreed to.
The need to set deadlines for invitation orders is addressed.
Class votes on color of the invitations. Burgundy chosen (if I'm not mistaken).
3: Senior Banquet is discussed. Only those serious about graduating (those who have paid for their cap and gown) can come. Banquet to occur 6:30 on April 14 at Trinity Baptist Church. Fundraiser for banquet brought up.
Seniors can each bring their parents and two guests who have had an impact on their lives to the banquet. They are to introduce their parents and say a couple of sentences about each guest.
Dress code: as formal as possible; dresses for girls, tuxedoes for guys.
Activities are discussed.
A poll is taken on the Victorian Dance.
Everyone has to buy a ticket to go to the after-party (ages 13-19 years).
Opinion needed on Victorian dancing, band, and age range. Everyone present is interested in the dancing. Age range set to 14-19 unless the Sophomores disagree.
3: Meeting dates are discussed. Feb. 26 agreed to for next meeting.
Class agrees to set March and April dates. March 26 is agreed to by vote. April 16 inspires no objections.
Old Business opened
1: No reports from Committees.
2: Two issues are brought up: the T-shirt needs to be ready, and the committees must get in touch.
Announcements
1: Those who wish to make a speech at the Graduation must let the Speech Committee know. Speeches will be selected by the Committee.
2: Auditions for performances will be in April.
3: Prom will occur on May 7 in Edmund
4: Lauren brings up Shakespeare in the Park, which will occur Thurs., Fri., and Sun.
