Victorian New Years Ball

From the newsletter of our Victorian dancing friends:

Here's some info on the New Year's Eve Claremore ball I just recently
received, including the REGISTRATION DEADLINE (4 days left)...

The ball begins at 8 pm and lasts until 1am on the campus of Rogers
State University in Claremore. Food will be served as part of the
evening's activities. As soon as we know how many from the OKC area
are planning on going, we can reserve hotel rooms at group rates if
there's enough.

*You must be in period attire from 1840-1910, so if you don't have
anything, let me know and I will arrange for an outfit for you. No
prior experience with dancing is required, as the dances will be
taught as we go along.

1. Contact Mr. W. to let him know you are planning on coming and
follow his instructions to register.
2. Contact me so that I can get our caravan and hotel arrangements made.

"We have extended our deadline till the 10th Dec and tickets for $20.00 per
person will be available until then. Several Hotels are close to campus.

Thank You.
Errick W.

Mr. W's e-mail address is: [email Rachel for address]. Please register
with him if you are planning on attending the ball and then let me
know you have done so.

Thanks,

Victorian Dancing

For all of us interested in the Victorian dance classes, here's some info about this month's class from their newsletter:

"The December historic dance practice will be held on Thurs., Dec. 16,
from 6:15-8:30 pm (please note the earlier start time - you'll see why
when you read the rest of this) at the Moore library Storytime room.

"We'll start off with some fun period games and the fingerfood all of
y'all will be bringing (sweet or savory -and it does not have to be a
recipe from the 1800's. So all you guys can breathe a sigh of relief
and stop at WalMart on your way to the social :-). The second hour we
will actually do a few dances, so though you will need to be dressed
nicely in current day Sunday clothes, make sure you can easily dance
in the shoes you will be wearing (or bring a different pair for the
dancing -ladies, avoid narrow, or any, heels).

"*Please RSVP to me" (Stephanie, email Rachel for her email address) "by Mon., Dec. 13, so that I can know how many to
plan for. I will also be e-mailing (in the next few days) some period
etiquette rules that we will be following that night, which should
make the evening even more entertaining. :-)"

God bless,
Rachel

Class Song

Hi everyone!

The music/program committee is interested in creating a song by and for our class. We would like the lyrics to represent the thoughts of the people in the class. If anyone has any thoughts/poems/anything about graduating, please send them and/or any questions and comments to me (Rachel) or Caleb. Thanks!
